Back To Crochet Basics - Lesson 4

We are  learning To stitch Double Crochet stitches 
 in Straight Rows, Ch3, Turn. Also learning about how and why to "measure as you go".
Building on what we have learned in Lessons 1-3.

What You Need:
Crochet Hook - H/ 5.00MM
Yarn - Worsted Weight Yarn (4)
Yarn Needle
Scissors
Tape Measure


Practice Project:
Double Crochet Headband

Skill: Beginner

Materials:
Crochet Hook - H/ 5.00MM
Yarn - Worsted Weight Yarn (4)
Yarn Needle
Scissors
Tape Measure

Stitches:
Chain (ch)
Slip Stitch (slst)
Single Crochet (sc)
Double Crochet (dc)

Size: 20 X 2 inches

Notes:
Ch3 counts as a dc
Ch1 Does not Count as a st

R: 1 - Ch 9, 1 dc in the 4th ch from the hook,
1 dc in the next 5 chs, turn, ch3 (7dc)

R: 2 -Ch3 counts as 1st dc, 1 dc in the next 6 dc, 
turn, ch3 (7dc)

R: 3 - R: 40  -  Repeat R: 2

Put the ends of the headband together and slst closed,
 tie off, weave in your ends.

Center Band -
R: 1 - Ch 7, 1 sc in the 2nd ch from the hook, 
1 sc in the next 5 chs,
turn, ch 1 (6sc)

R: 2 -1 sc in each sc, turn, ch1 (6sc)

Tie off leaving a 10 inch tail of yarn.
Wrap around the headband and 
sew in place using the tail of yarn.
These are perfect headbands for everyday.
Practice your stitches and make something useful.
